The health and well-being of our guests and our community is our highest priority.   To open our doors safely and responsibly, the Hellenic Community of Brantford has developed a Safety Plan that strictly adheres to the guidelines, regulations and bylaws set out by Government of Ontario, the Ontario Ministry of Health, and the City of Brantford.  We take this situation very seriously and are working hard to ensure that our hall can continue to operate safely.


In order to comply with the regulations, there will be protocols and procedures all visitors need to be aware of and follow.


1. If you, or someone in your household, have new or worsening COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, you cannot enter the building.


2. If you, or someone in your household, are waiting for test results after experiencing symptoms, you cannot enter the building.


3. If you, or someone in your household, has travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days, you cannot enter the building.


4. If you, or someone in your household, has you been identified as a “close contact” of someone who currently has COVID-19 in the last 14 days, you cannot enter the building.


5. If a doctor, health care provider, or public health unit told you that you should currently be isolating (staying at home), you cannot enter the building.


6. If you, or someone in your household, has received a COVID Alert exposure notification on your cell phone in the last 14 days, you cannot enter the building.


7. Self assess before coming to church. Screening questions are available at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/customer/covid-alert.  All guests will be actively screened upon arrival. Directions have been posted in both English and Greek.


8. All guests must sign in with their full name and phone number. This is a Government requirement for COVID-19 contact tracing measures. This information will be kept on file for 30 days and then shredded.


9. Capacity limits will be strictly enforced at every level of the Provincial Framework and during lockdowns:


             - During stage 1 (Lockdown, Grey level of the Provincial Framework) the hall is closed with the exception                     of court services, government services, mental health and addictions support services and social                                 services. The gathering limit for permitted purposes is 10 people.


             - During stage 2 (Red level of the Provincial Framework) the gathering limit for event spaces is 10 people                           indoors.


             - During stage 3 (Green, Yellow, and Orange levels of the Provincial Framework) the gathering limit for                         event spaces is 50 people indoors


Exception: Wedding, funeral and religious services are permitted at 30% capacity in stages 2 & 3 and 15% in stage 1.  Rules that apply to social gatherings associated with a wedding, a funeral or a religious service, rite or ceremony, such as a wedding reception, are set out in Schedule 3 in Stage 2 and 3 Regulations. Social gatherings are not permitted in stage 1.


10. Masks must be worn inside the building. They can be removed for eating and drinking but must be worn at all other times. If you forget your mask, one will be provided to you. There are a few exceptions to the mask by-law. 11. Dinner service is limited to Plated. Buffet & Family Style are not available at this time.


12. Self-serve punch bowls are not permitted at this time.


13. Dancing is not permitted this time. ( Please refer to Schedule 2 in Stage 2 and Stage 3 Regulations). Performances are permitted with restrictions.


14. Limit of 4 people per table


15. Volume of music must be low enough that a normal conversation can take place.


16. Liquor cannot be served after 9pm.


17. Liquor cannot be consumed after 10 pm.


18. The hall must close at 10pm.


19. Booking multiple rooms for the same event is not permitted.


20. Sanitizer has been provided throughout the facility. Please sanitize when entering the building and after touching surfaces or shared items.


21. Follow floor markers and signs.


22. Social distancing must be maintained if you are not in the same household.


23. Access is limited to the main hall, foyer and bathrooms. Entry into the chapel, basement, kitchen or other parts of the building is strictly prohibited at this time.


24. Water fountain use is prohibited at this time.


25. Coat room use is prohibited at this time.


26. Three persons are permitted in the bathrooms at one time.


27. Hand dryer use is not permitted at this time. Please use touchless paper towel dispensers.


We require everyone's cooperation and hope that you can understand and appreciate the seriousness of this global pandemic and what we are facing as a community. The legal implications for non-compliance are listed in section 7.0.11 of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
